CMO is aware of many social issues from workers’ human rights, health and safety at the workplace, welfare, health insurance and ethical practices to environmental protection. Not only does CMO take compliance with the relevant laws and regulations seriously, it also insists that its internal operations must conform to international management system standards, such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS 18001.
With a responsible, painstaking attitude, CMO aims to contribute to the greater good of the society to which it belongs and the natural environment in which it operates.

Labor Rights |

CMO attaches great importance to labor rights and fair employment practices. The corporation adheres strictly to all the laws in this respect; discrimination on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, class, language, ideology, political party affiliation, family origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, marital status, appearance, facial features or physical or mental disability is not tolerated, whether in regard to hiring, compensation or promotion.
CMO’s concern for labor rights is reflected in every aspect of our employees’ lives. It can be seen in the highly competitive compensation packages that the company offers, the comprehensive worker insurance provision, the free health check-ups, the cultural and artistic activities that the company organizes, the provision of financial assistance for employee’s children who wish to undertake further study, the absence of gender discrimination, and in many other areas.
At CMO, employee feedbacks in the form of suggestions or complaints are encouraged and are used as means of creating a friendly working environment as well as improving company operation effectiveness.

Chi-Mei Group, famous for its unique management style and corporate culture, has always focus on employees' welfare as its the highest priorities. The Chi-Mei group till today still maintains a record of zero labor-management conflicts. Moreover, Chi-Mei implemented a policy of "5 working days a week", 10 years before the government put it into law. Chi-Mei's original proposals such as employees' lifetime stock pension system, uniquely symbolize the Chi Mei's "humanistic" attitude toward it's employees.
As far as making a contribution to society is concerned, based on popularizing education, better medical treatment and cultural enhancement, Chi-Mei has pursued the establishement of non-profit organizations such as the Chi-Mei Museum, the Chi-Mei Cultural Foundation and the Chi-Mei medical center.
The Chi-Mei Cultural Foundation takes educational and cultural enhancement as its main objective. It hopes to broaden awareness of culture to every corner of society by sponsoring events of such purposes. The Chi-Mei Medical Center is based on the principles of non-profit , under the guide of reinforcing local medical resources and making it more convenient for locals. The Chi-Mei Museum, with its rich collections, has more than a million person visits per year at no entry cost. A branch of Chi-Mei Musuem is inside and open on the 8th floor of CMO, providing both culture and technology at the Tainan Science-based Industrial Park.
