CMO is involved in the business of research, development, and manufacture of TFT-LCD products. CMO products are sold to various part in the world. CMO holds to the same standards that are common to all the Chi-Mei group - its consistent focus on technological development, and devotion to safe sanitation and environmental protection.

CMO always tries its best to preserve safety and control pollution, to increase the overall quality of the environment, to keep the environment safe and healthy, and for ensuring the long-term operation of the enterprise. CMO has established safe environment and sanitation management committees under ISO 1400 and OHSAS 18001 to implement these measures systematically. Since our aim is the pursuit of happiness, we pledge to obey the relevant laws on safety, sanitation, and environmental protection, to build a working environment that is consonant with these standards, and to pursue a zero rate for pollution, damage, occupational disease, and accidental fires.

To bring this about, everyone must be trained to take their share of the responsibility. All colleagues within the enterprise will make good safety, sanitation, and environment protection into a habit of LOVE.

	To educate them about environmental protection, safety, and hygiene, all employees will participate in implementing a safety, environment, and hygiene (SHE) management system.
	It will use appropriate techniques of manufacture and pollution prevention, so as to efficiently employ energy and natural resources, and reduce the environment impact from productive activities and service activities.
	It will use appropriate techniques of risk control, so as to effectively reduce the risk of harm to persons involved.
	It will establish a legal and effective SHE management system, so as to easily implement environmental protection and safety and hygiene measures.
	By continuous audits and SHE management investigations, it will uncover defects and continue to improve, so to promote environment quality and safe employment.
	It will strengthen the relationship between workers, customers, contractors, suppliers and the outside world; it will work with others to protect the environment and lower the risk of industry-related disasters.
